Clean gutters are essential to preventing water damage to your house. Gutter screens make it easier to keep your gutters clean. So not only we clean your gutters in Greater Houston area, we also can install Gutter screens to prevent the gutters from clogging as often as they used to. Gutter screens help keep large debris, like leaves and twigs, out of your Houston home’s gutters. There are several types of gutter screens that attach under roof shingles, snap into gutters
or are fastened with screws. Gutter protection
systems include gutter screens, gutter covers,
 leaf guards and gutter fillers.

The following
instructions are for installing simple, snap-in, wire mesh gutter screens

  • Step 1

Select an appropriate ladder. Use a step ladder if possible. For a two-story home, you may need an extension ladder.

For all ladders, make sure that the legs are set on a solid, level surface.

  • Step 2

Measure each gutter separately (width x depth x length).

Also consider the pitch (angle) of your home’s roof as higher-pitch roofs have faster runoff that may miss a shallow gutter in a downpour.

  • Step 3

Refer to the gutter protection system manufacturer’s instructions for specific steps. Common gutter screens simply snap into place as follows.

    1. Starting at one end of the gutter, clip the screen lip to the front of the gutter, then slide the backside under the shingles.
    2. Continue down the length of the gutter in the same manner. Clip the lip and slide the backside under the gutter.
    3. As needed, overlap gutter screen sections by at least 1/2 of an inch.
    4. When you get to the other end of the gutter, cut the last screen to the length with tin snips or a utility knife.
  • Step 4

Maintain your gutter screens. Every spring and fall, call tru.shine window cleaning to  inspect your gutters to determine if the gutter screens are blocked or damaged for you. Remove and clean as needed.
